Isséane is a waste treatment plant that establishes, in Issy-les-Moulineaux, a new way of placing an industrial facility within the city. The building layers several elements, from the steel framework to the timber façades, the vertical circulation and the planting.
The lighting design follows this architecture without seeking to light the building evenly. The large steel framework becomes a luminous line that traces the silhouette of the site, while more discreet points of light pick out the timber façades, the vertical circulation and the planting. At night, the lighting sets up a play between industrial strength and lightness, a dialogue between architecture and landscape.
Visible from the Seine, this composition gives Isséane a restrained, graphic night-time identity, turning the technical facility into a landmark within the urban landscape.
